The first of this summer’s Teachers’ workshops began on the summer solstice. The workshops, titled Approaches to Teaching Lakota Culture, are sponsored in part by the South Dakota Humanities Council. Ann, Joe, Bruce, Janet, and Jim kicked the workshops off in a good way. Here they are working together while learning how to use the smoke flap poles to control the opening at the top of Jim’s tipi.
