Fresh spring water that is relatively warm has melted some of the ice off this pond. The direction of flow is from right to left, south to north. Today’s low 50s temperature made it feel like spring. Minnows were swimming in the shallow water, clouding it as they rapidly swished their tails on or near the silty bottom as they darted underneath the thin layer of protective ice.
