Beginning Tuesday evening and then continuing through Thursday, the wind blew extremely hard. It was relentless. It blew down the set of tipi poles in the left middle ground, and it blew down those poles that were not tied into the other three sets of poles. And it almost blew down those three sets of poles. Two things kept them upright, 1) the anchor rope from the crotch of the poles to the platforms, and 2) having the bases of the tripod poles screwed to the sides of the platforms. The speed and duration of the wind was remarkable.
