Monday, Jun 10 to Sunday, Jun 16, 2013: high 87, low 46

Saturday morning this deer was munching on leaves of the big tree by the north fence. In the bottom right corner of the image is a portion of the pile of brush and branches that Corey and Luis stacked in preparation for burning next winter after we have a good snowfall. They also mowed the thistle patch that was growing in this area. Hopefully regular mowing will stop the thistles from spreading, and maybe even give the native plants an opportunity to grow and choke the thistles out.

This picture below was taken by the trail camera two days earlier and shows another deer standing on its hind legs in order to reach the leaves. The leaves sure must be tasty to the deer.
