Monday, Apr 21 to Sunday, Apr 27, 2014: high 80, low 30
Friday morning Corey and i installed the columns in the library. The columns consist of a 1×8 “face” board and a pair of 2×10 “flange” boards on either side and perpendicular to the 1×8. In the pic above, you can see a 2×10 flange directly in front of Corey, and on the pics far right side, a 1×8 (without the two 2×10 flanges). In the picture below, Corey is fastening one of the two 2×10 flanges onto the column on the west side of the French doors. The columns terminate the wing–or radial–walls, which have tongue & groove on both of their sides. These wing walls are aligned with and radiate from the hocokab, the center of the hocoka. They are 9 degrees apart. Between these columns we will build book cases.
