Beautiful afternoon. Temperature around 70 degrees, no wind (thus the water’s smooth surface) and clear sky. Walked the outer trail of the reserve and noticed a number of turtles, particularly in the pond above which we aptly named Turtle Pond. There was a BIG snapping turtle that kept an eye on me, bobbing its head above the surface and eventually crawling/swimming out of sight. Lots of other turtles were also present in this pond, but i didnt see any in the Frog Pond, the first and highest of the ponds.
