Monday, May 9 to Sunday, May 15, 2016: high 70, low 27
A picture from the archives: 15 May 2011. Five years ago this week the plum trees south of the house were in full blossom. It was really greening up too. And if you look close, you can see the waxing moon rising. The 17th was the full moon that year. The following week we got snow and most of the fruit blossoms were frozen. Like Grandpa used to say, its only about one in three years that the natural fruit at any given place will make it to “harvest” time. But it only takes a productive little patch to produce bountifully and thereby provide fruit for a family throughout the winter.
