Tuesday this week was the first day of the Wingsprings new year. It is the day when the sun rises on the Wingsprings west-east axis, beyond the windsock, and causes the cockpit to cast a shadow on the hillside just beyond the springs, pointing directly to the Butte. The picture above, however, was taken Monday just after sunset; the Wingsprings new years eve. If you look closely in the sky, you can see 18 geese flying northward.
