An exciting new construction phase began this Thursday afternoon. It was unexpected; but entirely welcomed. On Wednesday, Kenny, the concrete guy, said he his crew had a week or so between jobs so i jumped at the opportunity to begin work on extending the facilities around the northern half of the hocoka to the eastern entrance. My job was to strip the top soil off ground in preparation for them to begin work this coming Monday. That is what is being done in the photo above. For 16 years we have protected this area from being driven on or cut into; yet here i was cutting a wide swath through it.
