By late Friday morning, Kenny and his crew had the footings for the new “gallery” addition poured and finished. In the far lower right of the photo are the existing concrete steps immediately east of the garage. That by will have a connecting roof over it, but no walls. Moving eastward (to the left in the photo), the long straight wall radiating from the central fire pit will be where you can enter the new addition through a door. The narrow curved 2-bay space will be a walkway toward the hocoka, and a mechanical room toward the outer wall. Then the gallery, which will be the home of the Lakota Emergence exhibit, is the 6-bay long curved space. Along its hocoka side, there will be a 3-by wide patio. This entire addition will be at the same floor height as the library. There will be no steps.
