Thursday afternoon, Abe stopped by on his cross-country jaunt from North Carolina to California. It was great to see him! He spent the night and on Friday morning he had to brush snow off of his car’s windows before leaving Wingsprings. For over two years during his employment with CAIRNS, Abe made an hour-long commute five days a week from his house south of Rosebud. He’d leave his home at 8 o’clock and arrive at Wingsprings at 8 o’clock. But when he left here at 5 o’clock, it would be 7pm when he got home. The border between Pine Ridge Reservation and Rosebud Reservation is also the border between Mountain Time and Central Time zones. No matter what time it is, Abe is welcome back.
