Monday, Aug 1, to Sunday, Aug 7, 2022: high 107, low 58, gust 73 mph, moisture 0.37"
We had triple-digit temperatures during four of the seven days this week, the final one being Friday. The image above is a picture of the weather station’s indoor monitor screen. In the upper right corner, you can see that the time was 8:36 pm and in the lower right corner that it was raining. The large yellowish circle in the upper left indicates that the temperature at that moment was 71.6 degrees and that the high temperature for the day was 107.1 degrees. Friday was the hottest day this week. But the reason for the picture is to record the wind speed. Notice in the next large circle that the average wind speed was 54.6 miles per hour and, more shocking, that it was gusting to 72.9 mph! The wind was howling and it blew the rain beneath the two temporary ridge coverings and caused leaks inside the house.
