Wednesday late afternoon was sitting in the rocker reading when peripheral movement caught my attention so looked up and there were deers walking by right outside the “point” window just ten feet of so from me. Slowly slipped out of the chair and onto the floor to minimize them being spooked. Crawled to the south windows and took some pictures of them. Holding the camera up must have caught this guy’s attention. In a few minutes he walked into the hochoka and when i stepped outside the library door and spoke to him to see what he would do it was fascinating to learn that he could not locate me by sound, probably due to the echo in the circular space. Even when i talked and moved it appeared the disconnect between sound and motion was confusing to him. But he did walk under the connecting roof between the cabins and bathhouse and continued soutwest toward the springs.
