Happy (Wingsprings) New Year! Thursday late afternoon at Mom’s cairn; approaching overhead a V of geese flying north. They might be from the Lacreek National Wildlife Refuge not too far south and a little east of here. Or maybe they are on their way from their winter home somewhere in the  south to their summer home up north. Big birds flying low and fast enough that you can hear their passage through the air. A harbinger of spring.
