Saturday morning a trail camera captured this image of a mule deer doe. Her coloring sure blends in with that of the sanctuary. The next morning, from the house, i watched two does in tall willows just beyond the background trees. Later that afternoon, while walking the path beside the springs, there suddenly was a loud rustling in the willows as something large was moving quickly away. Then, for a moment, i caught a glimpse of a doe, like this one, who bounded away southward, curving west and out of sight. Maybe these does are scouting places to give birth to their fawns?
