Friday early evening while walking on the road through the prairie dog town toward 226th Avenue the killdeers were loudly chattering. And it continued on my way back. Then i saw the reason: baby chicks. First i saw one, then because i was watching it closely, i saw two more, probably her siblings. They were so small and seemingly cuddly. Of course i didn’t touch them, but i did take some pictures. They are very difficult to see when they hunker down in the grass.
